Please, at 1405 Clay Street in OTR, has been named one of the best independent dining locations in the U.S. by Food Newsfeed.
Please was opened by owner Ryan Santos in 2016. Food Newsfeed says the 30-seat dining area has a “crisp motif” and local ingredients “appear as if plucked from a minimalist art exhibit.” It also notes the restaurant’sa unique bathroom that has garnered a social media following.
Ryan started in Cincinnati in 2011 with monthly pop-up dinners, and built a growing group of happy diners into email subscribers. This loyal audience supported him in 2015 when he launched his Kickstarter campaign (which was publicized by our sister site Queen City Crowdfunding, I’m proud to say). See the 2015 campaign here.
With his Kickstarter backers lined up, he was able to launch is restaurant. Please has vegetarian, pescatarian and omnivore options for its four-course menu and can accommodate gluten sensitivity and food allergies if given some notice. The menu changes with the season and product availability. The a la carte menu will focuses on smaller shared plates, interactive food and bar-type food options built to Santos’ vision. You can make online reservations on the restaurant’s website.
